I Had Nothing Left To Give Sir
Days six and seven. Fourteen tracks. I went into the studio ready to give everything I had, and by the end I truly did.
The first day was purely energy and adrenaline, but by the end of the second day my voice was gone. Every note was a challenge.
I was three songs from the finish and it felt like I had swollowed a box of pins. My trusty concoction of very expensive honey and lemon juice helped me through the last barrier.
On the final track, my throat was raw and on one long rasping note I was feeling a little light headed. I glanced over to the Big Noise Studios engineer Simon Davies as he asked for one last take, I took a deep breath, pushed through the pain, and gave it everything I had left. And on my last breath of the last song I looked over at him and said " I have nothing left to give sir " with a smile.
This summed up everything music means to me. It's not just about the sound, it's about the truth, heart and sacrifice.

Every breath, every rasp and every inperfection you'll hear on these tracks is real.
All the band members and myself have poured their soul into this project. And when you listen, I hope you feel every ounce of it.
