Days eleven and twelve - in the studio

Days Eleven and Twelve was all about editing and refining.

After laying down the foundations in earlier sessions, Simon Davies the studio engineer and owner at Big Noise Studios and I  returned to the studio to edit the tracks on the album, listening back with fresh ears an d shaping the grooves, dynamics and emotional vocal phrasing.

We spent two long days tightening arrangements, balancing sax and trumpet, keys and rhythm parts and getting the vocals to sit just right.

There's something special about watching first takes transform into polished pieces of work.

Each tweek brought us closer to the Porter Brotherhood sound we have been chasing.
